2002 King Estate Vin Glace[USA]
[Pino Gris]
Posted by perle0 on 2004-07-12 22:42:16 [Show TN in Text Format]
Chateau/Producer:King Estate
Wine Name:Vin Glace
Country:USA
State:Oregon
Wine Score:88
Notes:This wine is a bright, clear yellow, the color of citrine. It's thick, coating the side of the glass when swirled. It is sweet and fruity, with a taste like dried pineapple, but with a sharp acid flavor (like fresh pineapple...). It burns a little, like brandy. It's tasty, but I prefer something sweeter and less sharp in a dessert wine. Bonny Doon's faux ice wine is better in my book, but this one grows on you after a glass or two.
Tasting Date:2004-07-12
Varietal:pinot gris
Production Notes:This is a "faux" ice wine made from grapes frozen after harvest. (Real ice wine is made from grapes that freeze on the vine and are picked frozen.)
Price US$:18.39
