| Chateau/Producer: | Inniskillin | | Wine Name: | Icewine Vidal | | Country: | Canada | | State: | Ontario | | AOC: | VQA | | Region: | Niagara Peninsula | | Wine Score: | 96 | | Notes: | This icewine is excellent, sweet yet balanced. The color is a beautiful light amber, tending toward golden yellow at the edges. Its aroma is distinct and present, with scents of honey, orange marmalade, and apricot. The wine has a medium-heavy body, and a great flavor. It's got a very thick, rich sweetness, with just enough acidity to keep it from being too much. It reminds me of a lightly orange- or tangerine-flavored syrup, but more fluid and less cloying. I enjoyed this more than some other icewines with sweetness, but less rich fruit flavors to complement that sweetness. | | Tasting Date: | 2004-10-25 | | Varietal: | Vidal | | Price US$: | 75.00 | | Source: | brought to a wine-tasting dinner |
