Chateau/Producer: | La Mission | Country: | France | AOC: | Pessac-Leognan | Region: | Graves | Wine Score: | 95 | Notes: | This is the second time I've had the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful wine. Unlike the first bottle which had a very low shoulder, this bottle was in prestine condition with a full fill. The cork, though soaked, was in great shape upon opening. A medium bodied wine with a dark ruby color and some lightening on the edges. Straight out of the bottle, the nose was powerful with aromas of tobacco, minerals, and black fruit. Somewhat dense on the palate, but not extracted, flavors of blackberry, black currant, tar with a hint of plum. An incredible finish seeming to last 30+ seconds. | Tasting Date: | 2004-06-05 | Source: | Private Collection |
