Sideways Receives 7 Golden Globe Nominations

| The wine movie/buddy picture Sideways led the pack at the Golden Globe nominations, with 7, one more than its nearest competitor, Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator. |
Sideways received nominations for Best Film (Musical or Comedy), Best Director for Alexander Payne, Best Screenplay, Best Actor (Comedy) for Paul Giamatti, Best Supporting Actor for Thomas Haden Church, and Best Supporting Actress for Virginia Madsen. Funny how the Best Actor awards are divided up into comedy and drama categories, while the supporting actors all have to compete together.
Sideways was also named the year's best film by the New York Film Critics Circle, and earned a best picture award from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.
Heady stuff for our little wine movie! Especially when the Golden Globes are generally considered early indicators for the Academy Awards. What kind of wine goes with Oscar? |
