Vandals Rob Church, Drink Its Wine on Christmas

| Thieves--thirsty ones--broke into an orthodox church in Akron, Ohio and stole liturgical items, including a gold chalice. But to make it worse, they drank up most of the church's holy wine. |
Father Zuder remarked, "Oh, all the wine was gone, and yes wine was drunk inside the church because it was splattered inside the church furniture," he said. "But they took four bottles and left half a bottle."
The theft took place sometime overnight on Christmas day, ruining Sunday services.
Guess they needed that golden chalice for the wine. Liturgical wine might just need a golden chalice to make it enjoyable. Who's going to hell first--these thieves, or me for thinking it's sort of funny? |
