| Wine merchants report that since the movie Sideways was released in October, sales of Pinot noir-based wines have increased dramatically. |
In the month of December alone, sales of Pinot noir increased by 15% in one NYC store. The patrons making the purchases often want to discuss the movie.
"In a very entertaining way, the movie has educated the public about wine," says Wong. "Everyone comes in wanting to discuss 'Sideways' and try Pinot."
