Trends in Wine

| The Mercury News has a particularly good, thoughtful discussion of the latest trends in wine, both good and bad. |
For example, it examines the expansion of available varieties (hello grapes we don't usually get to see), and the recent trend towards wines with overly-high alcohol levels.
And not only does it discuss screwcaps, it talks about wine in boxes (like the juice-boxes kids love). I guess these would be the juice-boxes adults love, eh? I haven't seen any of these personally yet, but if they come in single-serving sizes and have decent quality, sign me up. |

In any case, you can bet that would be for very low end wine. While screwcaps offer potential to maintain wine integrity, I'm not sure how plastic containers would do anything more than save bucks in packaging. |
they're for us "cheap dates" who are single

If they kept a decent wine fresh after opening (like the boxes claim to do), it would be great for people who can't finish a bottle, or even a half bottle, before the open wine goes bad.
The question is, would a wine "juice box" contain just the amount I want to drink, but not taste like jug wine? |
