| Yes, you can have all three--at the very same time--by indulging in this latest trend in NYC restaurants, which gives a whole new meaning to "bed and breakfast." |
That is, these new restaurants specialize in dinners that are served in bed. Not your bed--theirs. They offer gourmet menus, and of course, a fresh change of sheets for each party. The restaurants consider this tradition to date back to Greek and Roman times, when well-off citizens gathered to eat, drink wine, and converse while lying reclined on couches. These couches were not beds, though; they were not for sleeping on, unless perhaps a diner was overcome by the rich food and wine. For that reason, I'd consider this new dining trend to be truly original, if perhaps not exactly great for the digestion.
