| New Orleans wine bar The Wine Loft plans to open a new location in downtown Baton Rouge soon, at Third Street and Laurel. |
The Baton Rouge location will be similar in atmosphere to its N.O. location on Tchoupitoulas Street, which offers 85 wines by the glass and 220 by the bottle.
The Wine Loft will serve light fare, such as brie and other cheeses, smoked salmon, panini sandwiches, fondue, and desserts. It will not serve full meals, in order not to compete directly with local restaurants.
It's planned to open in March of 2005. Let's hope that Baton Rouge can keep it in business! |
