Sideways Wins 2 Golden Globes

| It's official: of its 7 nominations, the wine movie Sideways has won two Golden Globe awards, one for Best Picture (Musical or Comedy), and one for Best Screenplay. |
Often considered a predictor for the Oscars, the Golden Globes does have one quirk that makes extrapolating winners difficult. It gives two Best Picture awards, in the distinct categories of Drama and Musical or Comedy.
Although critics have been praising Sideways for a while now, it is facing serious competition from the Globes's Drama winner, Million Dollar Baby. Released only in New York and Los Angeles in mid-December to meet Oscar eligibility, Baby is fast gaining critical acclaim and could overtake Sideways, which was released back in October and may be fading from memory.
