About Penfolds Wine
Penfolds has a long family history dating back to the 1800s when a young English doctor, Dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold, migrated to Australia taking with him vine cuttings from the south of France which he used to make fortified wines for his patients.

Throughout the years, and as the winery was passed down among family members, the demand for their wine grew and the Penfolds expanded the vineyards and increased production.

In 1962, Penfolds became a public company as the family relinquished control to Tooth and Co.
